Outside the shelling plant, the peanuts are dumped into a big pit again. In the pit is an industrial elevator, which doesn't look like the kind of elevator people ride on. It looks like a conveyor belt with pails attached. The pails scoop up the peanuts and flip them onto another conveyor belt, which then carries the peanuts through the plant.
The conveyor belt enters the plant through a large window that's covered by a screen. As the peanuts fall through the screen's holes and into the plant, rocks, leaves, and sticks are left outside.
